CW724R DZR Eco Brass Hollow Rods are precision, corrosion resistant and easily machinable lead-free silicon Brass machining stock for precision parts. It is also referred to as CuZn21Si3P or UNS C69300 and is composed of 75 to 77% copper, 2.7 to 3.5% silicon and a max of 0.10% lead. It is resistant to dezincification, and can be used for drinking water fittings, valves, plumbing and sanitary hardware. These hollow rods are manufactured to comply with EN 12168 requirements and will provide high-speed cutting, boring and drilling without the need for lead to control chips. USA Piping Solution offers the industrial pipe and component making hollow rods, CW724R DZR Eco Brass. Specifications and documentation can be provided upon request and provide the OD, bore, length and quantity to get a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are CW724R DZR Eco Brass hollow rods?

CW724R hollow rods are lead-free silicon brass products offering good machinability and dezincification resistance for plumbing and water-system components.

2. Is CW724R the same as CuZn21Si3P and C69300?

Yes. CW724R, CuZn21Si3P, and UNS C69300 are designations associated with this silicon brass alloy.

3. Is CW724R lead-free?

CW724R contains a maximum of 0.10% lead, making it a low-lead alloy commonly classified as lead-free.

4. Is CW724R dezincification resistant, and how is it proved?

Yes. Its silicon-based alloy structure provides dezincification resistance, which can be verified through ISO 6509-1 testing.

5. Is CW724R approved for drinking water?

CW724R is listed on the European positive list for drinking-water contact materials (EUPL entry 1658, subject to verification). Finished-component approvals such as ACS, WRAS, and KIWA depend on the manufacturer and applicable certification requirements.

6. Which EN standard covers CW724R hollow rod?

EN 12168 covers hollow rods for free machining. EN 12164 covers solid rods.

7. What are the CW724R tempers?

EN 12164 rod tempers include R500 (Ø6 to 80 mm, minimum tensile strength 500 MPa), R600 (Ø10 to 40 mm, minimum 600 MPa), and R670 (Ø2 to 20 mm, minimum 670 MPa). Hollow rod values follow EN 12168 and the mill certificate.

8. How does CW724R differ from CW602N?

CW724R is a silicon-based, low-lead brass, while CW602N contains more lead and uses arsenic to improve dezincification resistance.
