ASTM A519 1035 Seamless Tubing is a medium carbon seamless mechanical that is made with the ASTM A519 specification on seamless carbon and alloy steel mechanical tubing. This material is made up of of Grade 1035 is 0.32 - 0.38% and manganese content is 0.60 - 0.90%, making Grade 1035 a medium carbon tubing which falls in between two grades: Grade 1020 - low carbon tubing and Grade 1040 - medium carbon tubing. When engineers require some higher strength and hardness than Grade 1020 in both as-drawn or as-rolled state, but do not want to go through the heat treatment process as necessary for achieving maximum properties in Grade 1040, they may choose Grade 1035. Thus, Grade 1035 machines well, can maintain close tolerances in CDS state, and covers a broad range of precision mechanical parts at a lower cost than high grade material. At USA Piping Solution, you can get all kinds of different materials based on your requirements.

Applications of ASTM A519 1035 Seamless Tube

Grade 1035 is widely specified across industries where dimensional accuracy, consistent surface finish, and moderate-to-good mechanical properties are required in the as-supplied or lightly heat-treated condition.

  • Gear shafts and pinion shafts in industrial gearboxes and power transmission assemblies
  • Precision turned components for agricultural and construction equipment
  • Tooling blanks and fixture bars in jig and fixture manufacturing
  • Hydraulic cylinder rods and piston blanks where dimensional tolerance and surface quality are critical
  • Automotive steering column shafts and suspension components in lower load classifications
  • Machine tool spindles and arbors requiring a balance of hardness and machinability
  • Structural pins, clevises, and linkage rods for medium-duty mechanical assemblies

Grade 1035 is available as both cold-drawn seamless tube and hot-finished seamless tube. For process guidance on supply form selection, see our Hot Finished Seamless Mechanical Tubing and Cold Drawn Seamless Mechanical Tubing pages.

For the broader carbon and alloy steel product range, see our Carbon Steel Pipes and Tubes category page.
